Robot platform and development FAQ.

Direct answers about product selection, ROS interfaces, delivery scope and working with our team.

Frequently asked questions

What robotics R&D do you carry out in-house?

Our robotics team develops mechanical and electrical systems, embedded software and motion control, with in-house SLAM, localization, navigation, path planning and obstacle avoidance. Software configuration and delivery scope are agreed for each project.

Which university teams do you collaborate with?

We collaborate with relevant teams at Tongji University and Jiangnan University on core algorithm development, expert guidance, talent development and technology iteration, connecting research with robot products and practical applications.

What does Shining Robotics do?

Shining Robotics develops mobile platforms and complete robots, and provides JDM development, production engineering and volume supply.

Where is the company?

Building J, Floor 2, Shining Science and Technology Park, 5888 Dongfang Avenue, Luqiao District, Taizhou, Zhejiang, China.

How does Shining Group support the business?

The company was established with investment from a company within Shining Group. The Group supports manufacturing, sourcing, assembly, testing and operating trials. The robotics team leads development and delivery; resources are used according to project needs and internal arrangements.

How do platform purchases differ from JDM/ODM?

Platform purchases select existing models and configurations. JDM/ODM projects agree development, validation, production introduction, deliverables, acceptance and intellectual property separately.

How do SR-C500 and SR-C600 differ?

SR-C500 and standard SR-C600 both list a 50 kg maximum payload; SR-C600 also offers an optional 150 kg payload configuration. For the standard configurations, the SR-C500 measures 500×500×310 mm and weighs 35 kg; the SR-C600 measures 600×450×260 mm and weighs 45 kg. Listed ToF LiDAR counts are one and two respectively.

When should I consider SR-C800?

For larger upper modules and higher payload requirements. Its dimensions are 800×550×260 mm and listed maximum payload is 150 kg. Confirm operating conditions and load distribution.

What are the published SR-X700 specifications?

700×600×300 mm, 150 kg rated payload, 1.4 m/s maximum speed and a 48 V/52 Ah battery. ROS 1 / ROS 2 support and custom dimensions are available.

Can maximum and rated payload be compared directly?

Confirm definitions and test conditions, including continuous operation, load distribution, speed and floor conditions, before comparing values.

Which platforms support ROS 1 and ROS 2?

SR-C400, SR-C500, SR-C600 and SR-C800 support ROS 1 and ROS 2; the SR-X700 platform supports ROS 1 and ROS 2. Request product documentation for distributions, drivers and message interfaces.

Can customer algorithms be integrated?

Customer robot brains and third-party platforms can be integrated. Confirm control interfaces, feedback and development scope for the product and project.

Is navigation software included by default?

Refer to the quotation, product documentation and contract delivery list. Hardware, algorithm configurations and development services must be confirmed separately.

What options are published for SR-C600?

A 150 kg payload configuration, a 30 Ah battery and custom colors. The standard maximum payload is 50 kg. Confirm dimensions, platform weight, speed, battery and operating conditions for the 150 kg configuration in the quotation.

Can SR-X700 dimensions be customized?

Yes. Agree dimensions against upper-module layout, installation space, payload and interfaces.

What is SR-D800 designed for?

Factory material delivery, line replenishment, work-in-progress transport and tote returns. Assess routes, tasks and system integration on site.

What is the reception robot designed for?

The 43-inch dual-screen robot supports mobile displays, reception and information interaction. Supply follows contract and intellectual property agreements.

Has the SR-O700 omnidirectional platform launched?

SR-O700 is an omni-wheel platform under development. Refer to official product announcements for its status and specifications.

What are the JDM/ODM stages?

Requirements and product definition, product design, software and algorithms, prototype validation, and production introduction. Deliverables and acceptance are agreed by contract.

What information is needed for selection or a quote?

Operating environment, payload and load distribution, upper-module dimensions, space constraints, interfaces, algorithms and quantity.

How are delivery and support agreed?

Agree lead times, spare parts, repairs and technical support against configuration, quantity, development scope and contract.
